Clive Barker is well known as a filmmaker and author but he is also a very accomplished artist. And it is a rare treat when his work is displayed in a public setting, let alone on the East Coast. So we’re pretty damned excited to hear that his work will be on exhibit at Sloan Fine Art in New York City. The exhibit will run from April 17th to May 10th, with the opening reception on Wednesday, April 16, 7 to 9 pm.

During the exhibition, conceptual drawings for Barker’s upcoming film The Midnight Meat Train will be on display in the project room. These works are a rare glimpse at the artist’s process and the birth of many of the ideas and characters included in the finished film.

News has it though that Barker will not be attending the opening, but that really shouldn’t stop you form making the trip to see his amazing pieces of art if you live near New York City.
