Looking for a portable means of inebriation that would make Jules Verns somewhat envious? Then the Evolution Mobile Bar may be just for you.
KegWorks sells this baby which is an aluminum with a silver stainless finish portable bar. It has a speed rail, holds about ten bottles of booze, 24 pieces of stemware, built in garnish containers and only weighs in at 65 lbs. They also give you skirting options but why bother? It’s so bad-ass without it. Only catch – it costs almost two grand, which is a chunk of change even by today’s standards.
Today is the grand opening of the highly anticipated MMORP Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. You can check out the newest cinematic trailer above to get an idea of the kind of world this will be – bloody and hellbent. So for those of you who think World of Warcraft is too mamby-pansy, this very well could be your bucket of gore.
We here at the ZMP headquarters are huge Warhammer fans, so… Let the geektastic bloodening begin!
David Lowe, an all around creative type, has directions on how you can make some spooky book covers. Makes for a fine way to further perpetuate the rumors that you’re part of a Ythogtha cult.
We have to admit we’re suckers for Halloween, which I’m sure comes as a big surprise. And this top hat house with the skeleton popping out of the window is a fine example as to why. Yes folks, it’s starting to look a lot like Halloween here at ZMP.
Here’s some shots from this past weekend’s Saloncon, with your fearless leader being schooled in what happens when you taunt a woman with a clockwork arm. The story goes something like this…
Me: Hey there lady, that’s a fine hat ya gots there.
Lady: Why thank you! I love it quite well, I do.
Me: You know I could hang that thing easily twixt my nether region ya know.
Her: Why dear sir, I never…
Me: AGGHAAA!
Her: Take that you unkempt cad!
Fun story ain’t it? I guess that schooled me good. In any case you can see a tun of photos from this past Saloncon on their Flickr profile. And if you’re looking for some ass-kicking Steampunk gear, like the clockwork arm in these pictures, go and check out Brute Force Leather.
Zombie Monkey Projects is off to Saloncon, a gathering for folks who do what we oldsters call ‘Steampunk’. Lots of you young’ns like to call it ‘Neo-Victorian’… or yeah, Steampunk. Right. There’s a Steampunk meetup tonight and a load of things to do tomorrow. Check out the website for the shindig’s full schedule, which include a performance from Abeny Park. In any case I’ll be pushing my artwork, so be sure to look for the Grendel’s Den Design Studio banner.
So here’s a video from the headlining band Abney Park.
J.J. Abrams loves layered stories and plots, and his new series Fringe is no exception. His viral marketing monkeys have been busy trying to get all of the ARG materials up online, including the newly opened site for fictitious conglomerate Massive Dynamic. The fan site FringeTelevision.com has published some of the new comics, which are prequels to the TV series. There’s a new music video for Fringe, featuring Ror-Shak and their cover of The Cure’s A Forest. And as if that’s not enough, there’s Glowing Monkeys. You’re guess is as good as mine on that one.
So once more Mr. Abrams you pull the strings to the geek world and we dance for your pleasure.
