Thursday, June 19th, 2008

AlienThis is a life size Alien made of steal, resin, rigid foam and the fear of God – I think I may have just peed myself just a little. Really.

If you feel the need to scare the living hell out of say your neighbors, dogs attempting to befoul your lawn or your friends when they need to use the toilet, then this is the very thing to do it.

The folks at Monster Galaxy are responsible for this stunning nightmare. It’s ultra-realistic and can cause a heart attack in just 3 seconds.

It’s Slime Puppy!

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

What’s fun for the whole family? Why it’s the puppy that is filled with slime – “Biri Biri Kaze Hiki Wanko,” (“shocking sick puppy”), the dog filled with snot and vomit, that’s what!
Biri Biri Kaze Hiki Wanko
This fun-filled little game is being released by Bandai subsidiary Mega House which will commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of toy slime… with a toy pooch that’s vomiting. Ain’t it just keen?

The name of the game is similar to Milton Bradley’s Operation, but instead of non-gore-filled inner-body parts you have to deal with green slime:

“the toy puppy, who has caught a cold, drools a concoction of slime and plastic germs. Players must extract these germs using the tweezers without letting the metal part touch the slime, an act which produces a buzzing shock. The player who collects the most germs wins. Play continues by loading the mess into a compartment in the dog’s head.”

Someone out there order us up one stat!

Midwest Haunters Convention Photos

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

Midwest Haunters ConventionJust uploaded all of the pictures from the Midwest Haunters Convention, which you can find here.

As you can see from the picture to the left, it was quite the event. Lots of blood, guts, gore and Elder God Lov’n. Fun times indeed.

We hit the Friday bus tour which took us to the Scare Factory, which is the FX company who host the History Chanel’s Surviving History. Then it was off to local club BoMA for some spooky-fun-time with the Club Vampire gig, a traveling night club, from The Terrorwithin.

Saturday night was the The IAHA Masquerade Party, which was monster-filled – just the way ZMP likes it.

Anywho, go on and check out the photos from the weekend. We’re just going to continue recuperating here at the ZMP labs.

Midwest Haunters Convention

Friday, June 13th, 2008

We’re here in Columbus, OH for the Midwest Haunters Convention this weekend hanging out with our fellow spooksters. We’ll be jumping on the bus tour, which will hit some of the local haunted attractions and a goth club. Pictures will be taken of all the nefarious deeds.

If you happen to be around the vendors section will be open Saturday and Sunday, which is where we’ll be manning the Grendel’s Den Design Studio booth, number 612. Stop on by and say hi.

You can find full details at the Midwest Haunters Convention website.

In the meantime, here’s a video from last year’s shindig.

Don’t Forget, Doomsday Is Today

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

According to Yisrayl “Buffalo Bill” Hawkins, cult leader and founder of the House of Yahweh, today will be the end of the world. How will it all end today you may ask? Why an apocalyptic nuclear war obviously.

After the hear-wave we’ve just had here on the East Cost, that would be a cooling relief.

Necrocard

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

For all you zombie-loving freaks out there… and I do mean “love” in the biblical sence… and I know there’s a lot of you… here’s your dream come true… the Necrocard.

Necrocard

A fine gent named Stewart Home decided to create these cards as a kind of lark, and then simply hand them out to anyone to see what their reaction would be. Seems like a lot of people dig the Necrocard. One guy even said jokingly ‘I fancy being buggered on the way to having my kidneys whipped out.’

But there will always be those who don;t have any sence of humor, like one lady who seemed convinced that Home was somehow involved in an insidious plan in luring her to her demise.

In any case ZMP thinks Home has come up with one of the best party favors ever, or at the very least open the doors to Man-Zombie love for future generations.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II Game Trailer

Monday, June 9th, 2008

1up has a pretty good interview with Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II lead game designer Jonny Ebbert and producer Mark Noseworthy.

Best line in the interview is from Noseworthy – “It’s 300 in space.” My guess it’ll be a little less filled with oiled Spartans and more like oiled orks. Yeah, you can’t get that picture out of your mind’s eye.

And to wet your appetite, here’s the game trailer.

Philly’s Dr. Shock

Friday, June 6th, 2008

Back in the day there was one thing that was universal on TV… horror hosts. Every city had them. Each week a macabre figure would greet you within their dungeon and entertain you with their usually campy shtick between the showing of a classic horror film.

Being that I’m a Philly boy I grew up with Dr. Shock, AKA Joseph Zawislak. He combined the traditional comedic insult formulas created by horror host god Zacherley with magic tricks and his own cast of sidekicks like Boris and Bubbles (Dr. Shocks daughter).

Unfortunately on September 28, 1979, Zawislak died of heart failure at the age of 42. His rabid fan base (including yours truly) were heartbroken. A few others tried to fill his shows, most notably Saturday night Dead’s Stella, but none could capture Zawislak’s charm and fun.

Below are some clips from Dr. Shock’s show.

Name That Classic Game

Friday, June 6th, 2008

So, what game is this fine piece of work referring to? If you get the answer right our zombie monkey will spank you. If you get the answer wrong our zombie monkey will spank you. Either way it’s a win-win situation for us.
