It looks like they’re keeping the old time feel to this Lovecraft adaptation as well, but in the style of a 1940′s noir film.

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen Trailer
Wednesday, February 18th, 2009Some of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was filmed here in Philly, so I’m kind of interested in this sequel for that reason more so than the fact that it’ll probably have the highest Michael Bay Blowing Shit Up (TM) ratio than any other movie to date. And as many of you know I just love fiery explosions. The trailer definitely gives you a glimpse into what you can expect from this film – lots of things blowing up, being demolished and us puny humans cowering before our intergalactic robot interlopers.
The film is due to crush your theaters on June 29th.

Tales of the Black Freighter Trailer
Monday, February 16th, 2009The one part omitted from the film adaptation of The Watchmen is the subplot about the fictional comic book called Tales of the Black Freighter, which scenes appear throughout the Watchman issues. The story in the story is an allegory for the overall theme of the plot, but is more than able to stand on its own. So it’s no surprise that Warner Bros. is going to offer it as a stand-alone animated film to be released on DVD on March 24th. And from the looks of this trailer that premiered at MTV.com they are not changing much of the story, which is very good.
Half-Life Fan Film: Escape From City 17
Friday, February 13th, 2009My fellow Half-Life fans, I present to you something awesome – Escape From City 17, a Half-Life 2 fan film. Directed by the Purchase Brothers, this is just part one of what will hopefully be a long series of shorts based on the hit video game from Valve.

The Escape From City 17 short film series is an adaptation based on the Half Life computer game saga by Valve Corporation. Originally envisioned as a project to test out numerous post production techniques, as well as a spec commercial, it ballooned into a multi part series. Filmed guerilla style with no money, no time, no crew, no script, the first two episodes were made from beginning to end on a budget of $500.
I really hope they continue with this project since it’s far better than anything Hollywood could produce I’m sure.
