Apparently German television is now being taken over by dinosaurs. I suppose it’s just a matter of time before this happens in America. Though I’m sure Oprah wouldn’t go down easy, putting up an epic fight against these creatures. Now that would be some good TV.

Dinosaurs Upstage Dorky German Television Show Host
Thursday, October 8th, 2009“No Bones About It” – The Mütter Museum’s New Show
Friday, September 18th, 2009The Mütter Museum now has an online video program “No Bones About” which is hosted by Museum Director Robert Hicks. Unfamiliar with the Mütter Museum of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia? Well, let’s just say that it is one of the most uniquely morbid medical collections of oddities and aberrations in the world, and they are world famous for their calendar that features the museum’s collection.

Solomon Kane Movie Trailer
Wednesday, September 16th, 2009And yet another movie trailer. This one being the film adaptation of of one of my all time favorite Robert E. Howard characters, Solomon Kane. In my book Solomon Kane is more bad-ass than Howard’s more popular character, Conan the Barbarian. Yeah, I said it. The guy in the Quaker hat kicks more ass than the musclebound worshiper of Crom.
The film’s story -
Solomon Kane is a 16th Century soldier who learns that his brutal and cruel actions have damned him. Determined to redeem himself, Kane swears to live a life of peace and goodness but is forced to fight once more when a dark power threatens the land.
The film is written and directed by Michael J. Bassett, and stars James Purefoy, Max von Sydow, Pete Postlethwaite, Rachel Hurd-Wood, Alice Krige and Mackenzie Crook.
Paranormal Activity Trailer
Wednesday, September 16th, 2009Paranormal Activity, from Paramount Pictures, looks like a fine little fright film in the same realms as The Blair Witch Project (hopefully with far better acting though). The film’s story sounds pretty fun -
A young, middle class couple moves into what seems like a typical suburban “starter” tract house, they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be demonic, but is certainly most active in the middle of the night. Especially when they sleep. Or try to.
The film is directed, written and produced by Oren Peli, and stars Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat.
There’s no dates for the film to show in the Philly region, but there is a “Demand It” feature that you can use to let Paramount Pictures know you want the film to show in your town. So yeah, let’s get this thing to play in Philly.
Alien Vs. Thriller
Tuesday, September 15th, 2009What do you get when you add one Alien and the Michael Jackson hit Thriller? Why this gem of a video.
The footage comes from a practice session from this past DragonCon, which held an event to break the world record for most people dancing to Thriller at once.
I love the fact that whoever is in the Alien suit has far more groove than everyone else in the room.

Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl Trailer [So NSFW]
Tuesday, April 21st, 2009The Japanese have again taken things up a notch with its conquest to be the masters of WTF culture by offering the world this fun little romp named Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl. No need for me to try and describe what the film is about. The name does a fine enough job. In truth I don’t think I can actually tell you what this film is about. I mean yeah, there’s some girl named Vampire Girl trying to kill some other girl named Frankenstein Girl. But outside of that I… I… I’m so at a loss where to even begin. It’s like every messed up thing Japan ever created was crammed into this blood opus. Which now that I think of it will probably make this an instant hit as well as one of the greatest drinking games ever.
The Simpsons vs Star Trek Awesomeness
Tuesday, April 21st, 2009To mash-up the themes from The Simpsons and Star Trek is one thing. It’s kind of cute but it lacks any real “WOW” factor. But to do so whilst using a Theremin most certainly attains that “WOW” factor, and dare I say takes things to a much higher state of awesomeness.
