Some of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was filmed here in Philly, so I’m kind of interested in this sequel for that reason more so than the fact that it’ll probably have the highest Michael Bay Blowing Shit Up (TM) ratio than any other movie to date. And as many of you know I just love fiery explosions. The trailer definitely gives you a glimpse into what you can expect from this film – lots of things blowing up, being demolished and us puny humans cowering before our intergalactic robot interlopers.

The film is due to crush your theaters on June 29th.

Everyone meet BaR2D2, the robot that Bender has fantasies about. And I would suspect most of you will as well. Except for you bartenders. Your days are numbered my drink slingers.

BaR2D2 is a robot mobile bar that was created by Jamie Price. This sexy thing on wheels has the following bling:

motorized beer elevator
motorized ice/mixer drawer
six-bottle shot dispenser
sound activated neon lighting

And here’s the best part – James has given directions on how you can make your own BaR2D2 via Instructable!

Don’t even ask me why Robocop likes fried chicken, or at the very least why he needed to do commercials in Korea. Guess he needed some scratch for an oil and lube job. In any case this fine piece of action has been making the rounds and far be it from me not to jump on the wagon and share with you all.

The Underwire has a short feature of artist Michael Sullivan’s short film “The Sex Life of Robots”, which you can watch above. Sullivan’s original idea for the stopmotion film was a war movie featuring armies of battling robots, but then he came up with a better idea on what to do with his legion of robots: make love and not war. Thus “The Sex Life of Robots” came into non-stop robot sex life.

Sullivan has worked as an animator, prop fabricator and lighting designer for over twenty years. His work has been featured in the Tribeca Film Festival, “Transformers” the television show, Peter Gabriel’s “Big Time” video, a short animated EFX for “Star Trek V”, “The Big Bear in the Big Blue House” and “Joe’s Apartment.”

Clips of “The Sex Life of Robots” and an exhibition of some of Sullivan’s risqué robot sculptures are now on temporary display at Manhattan’s Museum of Sex.

Yet another Dreamworks movie that will crush other films when it’s released into the wild – Monsters vs. Aliens. Hitting theaters March of 2009, the story will go thusly:

When California girl Susan Murphy is unexpectedly clobbered by a meteor full of outer space gunk, she mysteriously grows to 49-feet-11-inches tall and is instantly labeled a “monster” named Ginormica. The military jumps into action, and she is captured and held in a secret government compound. The world learns that the military has been quietly rounding up other monsters over the years. This ragtag group consists of the brilliant but insect-headed Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D.; the macho half-ape, half-fish The Missing Link; the gelatinous and indestructible B.O.B.; and the 350-foot grub called Insectosaurus. Their confinement time is cut short however, when a mysterious alien robot lands on Earth and begins storming the country.

As a last resort, under the guidance of General W.R. Monger (on a desperate order from The President), the motley crew of Monsters is called into action to combat the aliens and save the world from imminent destruction.

The film has a pretty amazing lineup including Reese Witherspoon, Hugh Laurie, Will Arnett, Seth Rogen and Stephan Colbert. Not too shabby at all.

And Monsters vs. Aliens will be released in 3D in select theaters. Nerdtastic.
