Cubeecraft Paper Toys

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

Want to waist a whole day getting your paper craft skillz on? Then Cubeecraft is where you begin your journey. These nerdtastic paper toys need no tape, glue or mad origami skills to assemble. Just print them out, cut ‘em and fold as directed. And let me tell you, there’s just about every geeky pop-culture icon there, for example – Ultraman, Brock, a Stormtrooper, Mr.Stay Puft, Usagi Yojimbo, Master Chief, Dr.Manhattan, Bender, Gir, Strongbad Jason Voorhees and Peyton Manning (yeah, he’s a nerd’s football player if there ever was one).

J.R.R. Tolkien Meet Slayer

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

World meet A Band of Orcs, the metal-crushing band from the pages of any Dungeons & Dragons games. Armed with 20 sided dice and a mean ax, these masters of mayhem may very well be the successors of GWAR. Just watch their debut video Into the Maelstrom, which is filled with blood, war, scantly clad female elves in chains and obviously orcs. Lots and lots of orcs.

It’s a gaming geeks wet dream come true.

The Ghostbusters Game Trailer

While we’re on the subject of upcoming video games, here’s a trailer for the highly anticipated Ghostbusters: The Video Game. Well, highly anticipated by a lot of nerds… of which I am one of. So shove it.

Technically a sequel to the films, the game stars Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Bill Murray reprising their roles as Spengler, Stantz, Zeddmore and Venkman. The game plot is pretty straightforward:

With Manhattain newly overrun by ghosts and other supernatural creatures, it’s up to you to take on the role of a new recruit joining the original, famous Ghostbusters team. Equipped with a variety of unique weapons and gadgets, you will hunt, fight and capture a wide range of uncanny phantasms and demons in an all-new, funny and frightening battle to save New York City from its latest paranormal plague.

Activision is releasing the game this October for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PC, Wii and Nintendo DS.

Dead Space

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

Fans of the Quake and Doom franchises will more than likely blow their proverbial load with this “adult” trailer for the upcoming horror-in-space game Dead Space from EA Games.

The premise is nothing new – Dude investigates derelict ship only to find our the entire crew has been defiled in all sorts of gruesome ways by monstrous aliens. Using bigass weapons and bloody moves, he must butcher his way to an end that will probably result in his death anyway.

Yeah, sounds about right.

Dead Space will be available on the Playstation 3, Xbox360 and PC platforms, and will hit shelves this October.

It’s Slime Puppy!

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

What’s fun for the whole family? Why it’s the puppy that is filled with slime – “Biri Biri Kaze Hiki Wanko,” (“shocking sick puppy”), the dog filled with snot and vomit, that’s what!
Biri Biri Kaze Hiki Wanko
This fun-filled little game is being released by Bandai subsidiary Mega House which will commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of toy slime… with a toy pooch that’s vomiting. Ain’t it just keen?

The name of the game is similar to Milton Bradley’s Operation, but instead of non-gore-filled inner-body parts you have to deal with green slime:

“the toy puppy, who has caught a cold, drools a concoction of slime and plastic germs. Players must extract these germs using the tweezers without letting the metal part touch the slime, an act which produces a buzzing shock. The player who collects the most germs wins. Play continues by loading the mess into a compartment in the dog’s head.”

Someone out there order us up one stat!

Midwest Haunters Convention Photos

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

Midwest Haunters ConventionJust uploaded all of the pictures from the Midwest Haunters Convention, which you can find here.

As you can see from the picture to the left, it was quite the event. Lots of blood, guts, gore and Elder God Lov’n. Fun times indeed.

We hit the Friday bus tour which took us to the Scare Factory, which is the FX company who host the History Chanel’s Surviving History. Then it was off to local club BoMA for some spooky-fun-time with the Club Vampire gig, a traveling night club, from The Terrorwithin.

Saturday night was the The IAHA Masquerade Party, which was monster-filled – just the way ZMP likes it.

Anywho, go on and check out the photos from the weekend. We’re just going to continue recuperating here at the ZMP labs.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II Game Trailer

Monday, June 9th, 2008

1up has a pretty good interview with Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II lead game designer Jonny Ebbert and producer Mark Noseworthy.

Best line in the interview is from Noseworthy – “It’s 300 in space.” My guess it’ll be a little less filled with oiled Spartans and more like oiled orks. Yeah, you can’t get that picture out of your mind’s eye.

And to wet your appetite, here’s the game trailer.
