The Totally Normal Event

SPARCThis Saturday we’ll be attending Jeff Mach’s The Totally Normal Event, a benefit show for the SPARC Summer Experience which is a summer program for gifted youth combining elements of summer camp with the multilevel benefits of rigorous academic achievement. In other words a summer camp for really smart kids, much smarter than you and I most likely.

The event includes a tun of performers like The Dresden Dolls, Freezepop, The White Elephant Burlesque Society, The Mighty Mike Saga, Voltaire and many more.

You’ll also find all sorts of vendors and artists, including our big sister Grendel’s Den Design Studio offering spooky art, which we all know you dig.

There’s even a big interactive back-story and plot you can participate in throughout the event. Not too sure what it is but my bet is on some sort of fantasy based theme.

In any case it’s all for a good cause and you should go.

Midwest Haunters Convention Photos

Midwest Haunters ConventionJust uploaded all of the pictures from the Midwest Haunters Convention, which you can find here.

As you can see from the picture to the left, it was quite the event. Lots of blood, guts, gore and Elder God Lov’n. Fun times indeed.

We hit the Friday bus tour which took us to the Scare Factory, which is the FX company who host the History Chanel’s Surviving History. Then it was off to local club BoMA for some spooky-fun-time with the Club Vampire gig, a traveling night club, from The Terrorwithin.

Saturday night was the The IAHA Masquerade Party, which was monster-filled - just the way ZMP likes it.

Anywho, go on and check out the photos from the weekend. We’re just going to continue recuperating here at the ZMP labs.

Midwest Haunters Convention

We’re here in Columbus, OH for the Midwest Haunters Convention this weekend hanging out with our fellow spooksters. We’ll be jumping on the bus tour, which will hit some of the local haunted attractions and a goth club. Pictures will be taken of all the nefarious deeds.

If you happen to be around the vendors section will be open Saturday and Sunday, which is where we’ll be manning the Grendel’s Den Design Studio booth, number 612. Stop on by and say hi.

You can find full details at the Midwest Haunters Convention website.

In the meantime, here’s a video from last year’s shindig.

Eastern Haunters Convention

Eastern Haunters ConventionSo you may have been asking yourself where in the hell have we been the last few days. Well we’ve been at the first ever Eastern Haunters Convention which was held in the Philly area this weekend. We hobnobbed with fellow spooksters and haunter, went on tours of haunted attractions, and got mistaken for that dude from MythBusters. Check out all of the pictures for the evidence here.

RavenCon

ZMP will be heading to Richmond, Virginia for RavenCon, a SciFi con filled with all sorts of nerdy things. We’ll be sure to take a lot of pictures and such. I’ll (Dave) be pimping my art in the Art Show too. If you’re in Richmond stop on by and say yo.

HorrorFind Weekend Pics

Goat Head Hollow
Just uploaded all of pics from HorrorFind Weekend, which technically is still going, so there may be some later. There’s also some shots of the tour of a local haunted house, GoatMan Hollow, which as you can tell from the photo to the left was quite the time. And yes, the fellow on the right is a skinned Ken doll. Really, just look at the lack of junk… even in the trunk.

Quote of the weekend, thus far… “Pimp-slapped by Death“.

ZMP Off To HorrorFind Weekend

HorrorFind WeekendI’m heading to the spring HorrorFind Weekend, one of the most ass-kicking horror conventions around. Reports and photos of the mayhem will creep in as I have them. If you happen to be there look me up in the Art Show room where I’ll be lending fellow artist Chad Savage a hand running it.

There’s some pretty swank seminars including a “Corpsification for Beginners” course, a Weird Tales Magazine Retrospective and slew of movie screening. The full events schedule is here.

And for the hell of it here’s an outtakes reel of Doug Bradley (AKA Pinhead from Hellraiser) recording a TV/Cable ad for HorrorFind V.
