Dead Space: Downfall Trailer [NSFW - Gore]

Here is the trailer for the straight to DVD animated feature film Dead Space: Downfall, which is a prequel to the highly anticipated horror video game Dead Space. The story picks up where the original comic book series ended and takes place aboard the mining spaceship USG Ishimura.

If you’re unfamiliar with Dead Space, and you’re a video gamer, you should probably be slapped with a wet marmoset. Otherwise I highly suggest you check out the Dead Space website for more gruesome love’n.

Both the game and the animated feature are to be released at the same time this October.

Dead Space

Fans of the Quake and Doom franchises will more than likely blow their proverbial load with this “adult” trailer for the upcoming horror-in-space game Dead Space from EA Games.

The premise is nothing new - Dude investigates derelict ship only to find our the entire crew has been defiled in all sorts of gruesome ways by monstrous aliens. Using bigass weapons and bloody moves, he must butcher his way to an end that will probably result in his death anyway.

Yeah, sounds about right.

Dead Space will be available on the Playstation 3, Xbox360 and PC platforms, and will hit shelves this October.

Futurama: The Beast With A Billion Backs Out Today!

Futurama: Beast With A Billion Backs Today is the day my fellow Futurama fans. Today is the release of the second Futurama film - The Beast With A Billion Backs hits the shelves today.

Described as a “depraved, yet sensuous” adventure, writer and producer David X. Cohen refers to it as “disturbing.” He goes on to say “There is certainly more of an adult theme in this film than the average Futurama episode.” Well with quotes like “These aren’t tentacles, they’re gentacles!” I think that’s pretty obvious.

So what’s the movie about and what tasty bits are included in the DVD you may ask coffin-stuffer? Well let me tell you…

In Futurama’s latest and most tentacle-packed epic, space itself rips open, revealing a gateway to another universe. But what lies beyond? Horror? Love? Or maybe both, if it happens to contain a repulsive, planet-sized monster with romantic intentions! Nothing less than the fate of human and robot-kind is at stake as the Futurama crew takes on The Beast with a Billion Backs.

The Beast With A Billion Backs will be presented in widescreen format with English Dolby Surround 5.1, along with French and Spanish subtitles. Bonus features include:

-Commentary By Matt Groening, David X. Cohen, Billy West, John DiMaggio, Maurice LaMarche, Michael Rowe, Claudia Katz, Peter Avanzino and Lee Supercinski
-Futurama The Lost Adventure - a long-lost full-length adventure produced for the video game with audio commentary by Matt Groening, David X. Cohen, Billy West, John DiMaggio, Maurice LaMarche, Michael Rowe, J. Stewart Burns and Lee Supercinski
-Meet Yivo! Featurette with David Cross
-A Brief History Of Deathball Featurette

-3D Models With Animator Discussion
-Storyboard Animatic: The Beast With A Billion Backs, Part One
-A Sneak Peek at the Next Futurama Epic! -Deleted Scenes/Storyboards: Original Opening, Fry and Colleen Meeting, St. Asimov Parade, Zapp and Scientists, Amy Fry and Leela, Scruffy the Janitor

That should keep you busy.

The Andromeda Strain Trailer

This Memorial Day weekend A&E releases their remake of The Andromeda Strain, a ’70s movie that was based on the Michael Crichton novel of the same name.

Now I am one for slamming remakes. Most times you can just smell the taint of “bad” lurking within. But I will admit that this revision of the quintessential biological apocalypse may be pretty swank, especially since it will be far closer to Crichton’s version than the ’70s film, and Ridley Scott has his fingers all over it too.

For those who have never read the novel (shame on you) or seen the original film (again, shame on you), the general story goes something like this:

An entire town is killed by a mysterious virus brought to earth by a returning satellite. A search through the town reveals two survivors: a baby and an old man. Why the virus spared them could provide the key for immunizing the populace. A crack team of scientists isolates themselves with the survivors in an underground laboratory, and now they only have a few days to find a cure before the world is destroyed.

Below is a trailer for the A&E version followed by one for the ’70s version, which was considered pretty good in them there days.
